PLL, S3-E4: Birds of A Feather

Spencer decides to finally investigate her sister and brings the girls to snoop around Melissa's apartment while she keeps her busy. Although they don't find any medical records, they do find a costume bag with a feather that matches the one from the mysterious black swan. When Spencer confronts Melissa, she confesses to losing the baby shortly after Ian died and that she was blackmailed into wearing the costume. Meanwhile, Emily meets Maya's cousin Nate who moved to Rosewood for school. And Hanna decides to be more honest with Caleb...until A threatens Caleb's Montecito family. Caleb becomes frustrated with Hanna's silence and breaks up with her. Also, Jason returns to offer a $50,000 reward for information about his sister remains, and he may have found a credible witness.

PLL, S2-E24: Unmasked

A invites the girls to Rosewood's annual masquerade ball, and threatens to kill one of them if they don't return A's cell phone. They have until midnight the night of the ball to hand over the phone, but the girls resolve to find out who A is before then. Using the postcard from Ali's bag and business pen, they find the Lost Woods Resort and discover that Ali checked in to the hotel the day she disappeared. At the ball, Mona reveals that she saw Alison in Brookhaven spying on someone. Spencer figures out that Ali was spying on A and not vice versa and returns to explore the hotel with Mona. She finds A's secret lair, but also discovers that Mona is A. After surreptitiously answering Aria's phone call, Spencer notifies the girls of the danger. Aria, Emily and Hanna arrive just in time to save her from Mona who ends up tumbling off a cliff. Mona survives her fall and ends up in a mental institution.

PLL, S2-E24: If These Dolls Could Talk

After having a strange vision of Allison, Spencer looks again at the newspapers in Ali's bag and finds a bunch of personal ads between Ali and A. The girls visit the meeting place set up in one of the ads, which is the doll hospital they recently visited. Although the owner claims to not know anything about the creepy voodoo doll given to Ali, a young boy named Seth mentions Ali and the two people (a man and a woman) who wanted to hurt her. Suspicion falls on Jenna and Melissa, but the girls set up a trap - Mona and Caleb making out in front of Melissa - to see if she texts Hanna as A. When the text comes through, Hanna is convinced that Melissa is A. Spencer makes them stop one last time at the doll hospital for confirmation, but they are frightened away by an eerie doll display that threatens them with death. They plan on handing over all the evidence to the police just as the cops arrive at Spencer's to arrest Garrett for the murder of Allison.

PLL, S2-E23: Eye of the Beholder

Aria meets Duncan, a former friend of Alison, who didn't even know she was dead. He tells her that Ali would go flying with him and she seemed troubled by something that summer. Also, he picked her up in Hilton Head on Labor Day and flew her to Philadelphia hours before the girls thought she arrived home. Meanwhile, Jason gives Spencer some items of Alison's that Maya found in their house. Although none of the items are very useful, the girls do find a mysterious postcard and newspaper ad for a concert in Rosewood on Labor Day. Also, Toby returns to Rosewood, assisting Jenna after her first eye surgery. Spencer is upset that he would agree to help Jenna after everything that happened, but Toby still has sympathy for his step-sister and isn't too pleased with Spencer after their breakup. Jenna is later lured to Jason's house where she's trapped inside a a fire consumes the building. Luckily, she's saved by Hanna. And Maya emails Emily to tell her that she is safe, but not ready to talk to her parents.

PLL, S2-E22: Father Knows Best

The annual Father-Daughter dance causes tension between two of our liars, Aria and Spencer, and their fathers. Spencer becomes increasingly suspicious of her father when she finds a receipt for a $15,000 check in his files. He later tells her that he paid a private investigator to find Allison because he worried that Melissa might be involved in her disappearance. Aria leaves the dance early to help Hanna with her mother, but not before she tells her father that she is not his little girl anymore. Emily's father helps her find out that Maya bought a bus ticket to San Francisco, but she may not have used that ticket. Meanwhile, Hanna tries to avoid involving her mother in the A-drama; however, Ashley Marin doesn't believe the story the liars concocted to throw her off the trail. She and Ella talk about the mysterious A and think about contacting the police.

PLL, S2-E21: Breaking the Code

After giving Jonah the $2,000 she borrowed from Jason, Spencer is disappointed to find out the information about A is only an old address. In addition, Caleb's work on the video reveals that her sister Melissa was in Alison's room the night she died. Although she tries to get some answers from Melissa, her sister ditches her to talk to Garrett. Melissa finally takes Spencer somewhere private where they can talk at the end of the episode.

Meanwhile, Hanna finds out that Mona is being blackmailed by A. Mona refuses to expose Hanna's shoplifting arrest at the expense of confessing to her own criminal activities; but it doesn't look like A is finished with Mona.

Also, Ezra is offered the job in Louisiana and considers ending things with Aria. Emily can't get a hold of Maya after their fight and is frightened when the police come to her house to ask about her girlfriend.

PLL, S2-E20: CTRL-A

The police, including Officer Garret, arrive at school to confiscate Caleb's laptop on suspicion that he has been hacking into secure school files. Caleb attempts to wipe any incriminating evidence A might have planted on it by remotely connecting to his computer. Although he's unable to access his laptop, he does give Hanna his password. Later, he "cooperates" with the police, providing an opportunity for Hanna to wipe the evidence. After working very hard to remember his password, Hanna and Spencer successfully get rid of the classified school files.

Meanwhile, Aria sets up another meeting with Ezra, and finds out that Holden has been competing in martial arts fighting. This is begins to worry her when she finds that he has a serious heart condition. Aria cancels her date with Ezra to confront Holden about his dangerous activities; her actions turn out to rather beneficial because her father was waiting to catch her after being tipped off by a note from A.

Vivian's "friend" meets with Aria and confesses that he was working to find out who was sending Alison anonymous texts. He is upset that Vivian never paid him and offers the girls the same information for $2000.

PLL, S2-20: The Naked Truth

Hanna narrowly avoids being expelled after last week's episode; however, she and Kate must attend a school lock-in called "Truth-Up," which focuses on building connections and owning up to the truth. Spencer, Emily, and Aria also attend and each end up confronting their own individual problems. Emily apologizes to Mona for never stopping Ali from torturing her, and Mona decides to help Emily get back onto the swim team by blackmailing the principal. Aria confronts Holden about his bruises and a mysterious bag of pills that fell out of his bag. Although he never reveals his secret, he does save Emily from Noel on the roof with some efficient fighting moves. Spencer finds out that Jason is really her half-brother when she overhears a fight between Jason and her mother. Hanna notices a birthmark on Kate's body that isn't in the naked picture and gets Kate to confess, on record, that she photo-shopped a picture of herself and sent it out on Hanna's phone.

PLL, S2-E18: A Kiss Before Lying

Caleb and the girls notice a fake i.d. belonging to a dark-haired Alison in the video from A's cellphone. Although they try to keep the information to themselves, Hanna finds out and is hurt that everyone lied to her about Caleb's continued involvement. She eventually forgives her friends and boyfriend and also confesses to Caleb that someone has been using information about her mother's bank theft to keep her under control. Hanna also remembers that she saw Alison with the brunette wig once at a salon, except Ali called herself Vivian Darkbloom. Spencer googles the name, finding a connection to the book Lolita and a mysterious claim ticket in Ali's copy of the book.

Meanwhile, Kate comes to Rosewood causing Spencer to remember meeting her years before when she had an unfortunate skin condition. Spencer promises not to tell anyone, but by the episode's end A sends out an text from Hanna's phone that includes a naked picture of Kate.

PLL, S2-E17: Blonde Leading the Blind

Caleb continues working to decode the information on A's cellphone, but becomes aware of how sensitive the information is when he sees a video of Ian, Garrett and Jenna arguing in Alison's room. He mentions to Hanna that he's noticed Officer Garrett watching him, which causes Hanna to promptly destroy the flashdrive with the video. Still concerned for Hanna's safety, Caleb agrees to keep working on the files for Spencer, Aria, and Emily, but only if they keep it a secret from Hanna and tell him their dangerous secret.

Aria, frustrated with Ezra's silent treatment, asks him to meet him and discuss their relationships future. Although trying to avoid her, Ezra can't let go of their romance and gives Aria hope that they can be together.

Spencer receives a message from A that threatens Toby, and shortly after, Toby has an "accident" while taking down the scaffolding at Spencer's house. In order to protect Toby, she has Emily tell him that Spencer is seeing someone else.

PLL, S2-E16: Let the Water Hold Me Down

Lucas still hasn't returned home, although he has spoken to his parents a few times. His absence makes Hanna nervous and frightened that Lucas will come back to confront her. Her preoccupation with Lucas leads to fights with both Mona and Caleb. Eventually, Lucas shows up at Hanna's house to explain what happened. Lucas was terrified to tell Hanna that he stole Caleb's money and lost it betting on a basketball tournament, and he's been selling his collectibles to repay Hanna's boyfriend.

Meanwhile, Spencer finds a bunch of cell phones and a receipt from a newsstand in Philadelphia in the attic of the lake house. She visits Philadelphia and finds the Rehabilitation Center Jenna attended when she was blinded. After speaking to a former friend of Jenna's, Spencer steals the sign-in book to show the girls that Garrett came to visit Jenna the night Allison disappeared, and the two signed out that evening but never returned.

PLL, S2-E15: A Hot Piece of 'A'

After finding A's lost cell phone, the girls decide (despite Hanna's objections) to have Caleb check the phone for any incriminating information. Sadly, the only thing Caleb can recover before A turns off the phone is a picture of the creepy dolls. It seems like a dead end until Spencer notices that the wallpaper in the background of the photo indicates that the picture was taken at her family's lake house.

Meanwhile, Aria's parent's tell her she can no longer see Ezra, and, after a tense conversation with her father, Ezra agrees that Aria shouldn't call him anymore. Also, Jenna and Garrett are fighting, causing Jenna to leave for eye surgery in Boston alone.

Emily begins working at crisis hotline to complete her community service and notices a certain male caller may be involved with A. Emily and Spencer are convinced the caller is Lucas, and they try to warn Hanna. However, she has already left with Lucas to set up the fireworks for Caleb's surprise party. When Lucas stops rowing in the middle of the lake and angrily tosses the fireworks into the water, Hanna gets nervous and knocks him out of the boat before swimming to safety. Lucas doesn't return to the shore.

PLL, S2-E14: Through Many Dangers, Toils and Snares

The girls complete their court-ordered community service, but a fight between Emily and Spencer extends their sentence and indicates a rift in the group. As Spencer, Hanna, and Aria do their best to ignore her, Emily tries to cut a deal with A to ensure her own safety. However, all the animosity between the girls is really a clever trap for A, and they use their public sparring to convince A that they found some crucial evidence.

Emily baits A with the supposed evidence and gets a one-on-one meeting, which is the perfect opportunity for the girls to catch A. But, Spencer, Aria, and Hanna are delayed by their own individual dramas. Toby confronts Spencer about their breakup, but she begs him to give her more time. Hanna is excited to have Caleb back in town,but her father arrives and tells her that he and his new family are also moving to Rosewood. 

Meanwhile, Ezra finds out that Jackie caused his breakup with Aria and suggests its time to tell Aria's parents about their relationship. Aria's mother and father are so upset that Aria has to sneak out of the house (with Mike's help) to get to the meeting with A.For a few tense minutes, Emily is left alone with A and is brutally attacked before Spencer arrives. The girls fail to capture A, but luckily A drops his/her cellphone.

PLL, S2-E13: The First Secret

Alison and the girls are invited to Noel's Halloween party, and each of the girls deals with different dilemmas leading up to the party.

Aria sees her father making out with a student, but decides not to tell her mother. Hanna's father recently left his family and her mother is distraught over their situation. Spencer desperately needs to win class president and succeeds with a little bit of help from Alison. Emily's boyfriend circulates a rumor that they had sex; even though the rumor is false, Emily lets people believe it to avoid facing the truth about her sexuality.

While picking out her Lady Gaga costume, Ali runs into the new girl, Jenna, and discovers that they have the same idea for their Halloween costumes. Although she warns Jenna off, the new girl shows up to the party dressed up in an even better Lady G outfit than Ali and proceeds to reject Ali's offer of friendship.

Ali also seems to have stalker who sends her mysterious texts and leaves a package containing a voodoo doll with the cryptic message, "It's my turn to torture you."

At the Halloween party, Ali plays a mean trick on the girls, making them think she's being attacked by a masked assailant. She's having a good laugh about it until her partner-in-crime, Noel, tells her he didn't actually participate because he was on a beer run. Ali gets another text from "A," but doesn't tell anyone about it.

PLL, S2-E11: I Must Confess

On the penultimate episode of the summer...

- Spencer's dad admitted that he's been helping the DiLaurentis family change Alison and Jason's grandmother's will because it does NOT include Jason. It did, a week before she died. But it seems like Alison somehow convinced her to change it.

- Mike's problems escalated, as he shoved his mother in a fight over his computer. But at least this led to him pretty much admitting he needs help.

- Emily called Maya and met up with her again. The dinner went well.

- Kate set up Hanna by getting her drunk and then stealing the spotlight at their parents' engagement party.

- But it ended early because Dr. Sullivan called. She said she knows who A is, it's a client, and can Emily gather all the girls together. They arrived at the doc's, only to get a message from A: The doctor is out.

PLL, S2-E10: Touched By an 'A'-ngel

Jason quickly cleared his name this week, telling Aria that Ali actually took those photos of her and framing them for her as a gift. But all was not well with this young man, as Aria let it slip to Ezra that she kissed him last week.

Ezra responded by saying he wanted them to keep trying and even come clean to their parents. Too bad Aria's mom thinks Spencer is the one dating Ezra - because she saw them chatting in a car - and made it clear to Aria that she wouldn't approve of such a relationship.

Elsewhere:

- Hanna made an enemy out of her future step-sister after she went off on Kate and her friends, unaware they could hear over a loudspeaker.

- Emily continued to get stalked by A: first, she slipped all "As" in her cereal. Then, she actually somehow broke in and gave Emily a massage during an appointment! If only Emily had looked up! Needless to say, she was shaken up by all these events.

- Spencer discovered, via Ian's yearbook, that Ian, Garrett and Jason were all in the N.A.T. club, which is Latin and stands for "We See All." The episode ended with Garrett sitting down to have a chat with Jason.
