- Via the Gilbert journals, we learn about a witch massacre and burial site in Mystic Falls. This is how Elijah, Luka and Jonas were planning to kill Klaus: through the combined force of dead witches, which creates and incredible amount of power. Damon reads where this site is located and tells Stefan, but not Katherine.
- Damon also killed Luka when, via a spell, he sneaks in and tries to take out the dagger from Elijah. This anger Jonas, who goes to the Mystic Falls Grill to find Elena. He ends up burning it down and stabbing Matt. Caroline saves him via her blood and later must tell him the truth. He freaks out about her being a vampire because he remembers Vicki saying a vampire killer her.
- Jonas then ends up at the Gilbert household, only to be killed by Stefan and Katherine. He grabs Bonnie at the last second, gives her powers back and also tells her how to kill Klaus. We're never informed of this information.
- Katherine tells Damon that she made a deal with John: she'll help kill Elijah in exchange for saving one brother. She chooses Stefan. That's why John gave Damon the dagger and why Katherine never told him he'd die if he used it. Damon later turns down Katherine's advances and it looks like he is finally over her.
- The episode ended with Isobel at the Gilbert door.
